Pity is one of the worst things that you wish anyone to feel for anyone or anything. You want people to be sympathetic an compassionate, not pitying. If you want that one person to pay attention to you, try doing yourself a favor and try to stop being immature.

The problem with getting attention through pity is that it becomes addictive. Our culture celebrates victims. And it’s an easy way to get attention. You don’t have to be smart or disciplined or accomplish anything great in order to get the same amount of attention. You just have to be broken. The thing is, this grates on people over time, and their pity will turn into contempt.
Break out of this mindset by applying yourself. Do something that requires discipline. Accomplish something that you can be proud of and that others can admire you for. Happiness is rarely found in seeing yourself as small and powerless. When you seek pity, that’s how the world sees you. Unfortunately it’s a good way to attract sociopaths.

everyone has done this a few times.. if you find it to be a repeat problem, seek help for it. there is a condition where people actually seek pain on someone else to get attention. If its just once in a blue moon.. no biggie.. everyone has done it.
