I thought if I was me someone would fall in love with me.

So I went to my school ‘prom’ as a mediaeval princess.

Nobody danced with me and nobody noticed. Then someone asked if I made my dress myself.

When I got home I cried myself to sleep and wished I hadn’t gone.

The one time in my life I felt beautiful, nobody cared.

@Pippin I wish I had the guts to dress as myself. Uniqueness is what makes people beautiful – prom just isn’t the place where this gets noticed/appreciated.
For what it’s worth, you’re my prom queen.
(I know that sounds corny, but still)

Anyone who tells you high school is the best time of your life is lying -it’s better after, I promise. Someone will see you for who you are and treasure you, but that rarely occurs in high school.
The people at that prom couldn’t appreciate your beautiful individuality because they aren’t ‘there’ yet..don’t give up all the wonderful things that make you who you are. (the boring conformists never changed the world)
I’m sure you were stunning and I’m glad to know that there’s a kid like you coming up.

You dared to be different and there is nothing wrong with that. It’s sad no one acknowledged how creative and beautiful you were. If I were to do something like that, i would have shown up to prom in a gorgeous gown…..and i’m a boy. (theres my secret.)

I wore a tiara to mine. No one asked me prom, so I took a friend of mine who was a year younger and dying to go. He let me pick out what he wore (I dressed him as like an old school gangster).

My fiancé wears a kilt. He loves when I dress up in my Renaissance clothes. When we get married, he’ll be in a kilt, and I’ll be in a medieval style gown.

    🙂 yay for medieval stuff!
