  1. When I was 14, I DID get run over while riding my bike. There was nothing exciting about it. Just tragedy. It didn’t define me, but I think of it often enough to resent careless drivers and to be very nervous when my teenage sons are out riding their bikes. I am 47 years old.

  2. The same thing happened to me, the guy had to drive onto the sidewalk I just kept on riding my bike our world lacks true excitement.

  3. Something about reading this secretpostcard made something click within me. That feeling doesn’t really have any words but I just thought that the person who shared this should know, you helped something “click” in someone else.

  4. no. it’s not pointless.
    to me, it means..
“i almost lost my life. i didn’t feel anything”
do you know what that’s like..?
    to be painfully
    hopelessly
    simply
    NUMB. …
think about it. it shows the loss of feeling real.
    worth it.
    important…

  5. I was almost hit by a car too . . . at a crosswalk were I had the right-of-way. I screamed and jumped out of the way as the car sped up. All it did was graze my side. So I continued walking to CVS. Not much exciting about ‘almost’ getting hit. But it can scare the living daylights out of you for thirty seconds. Not scary because you might die, but scary because you might live—and with a terrible injury.
