I agree completely. I’m 15 and this generation is ABSOLUTE crap! Nobody knows what music or personality is any more! Check out my band http://www.myspace.com//helpdemolishbarbie Let’s change things and make the world the way we want it!

Your only 14. Period.
Guess what, life sucks! I’m sure the era your talking about is the one where men ruled, beat their wives if the dinner wasn’t done and the laundry wasn’t folded.

BTW. Your ugly, so who cares?

DREW, you are an IDIOT. Obviously you don’t understand this postsecret, and are some weirdo living with their mother at 40 years old, and not young enough to understand this.

wow I never thought I’d see mine up here! :O
I get what drew means, like the past is really oppressive to women and stuff, but the music, clothing, PEOPLE were just fabulous. I wish we still had that culture.
thats what I meant.

it’s the craftsmanship I miss
I had a beautiful singer sewing machine from the 50s that still worked perfectly, and the attention to detail was so much better than anything made today
and it was metal and wood, not cheap plastic!! lol
my nan gave it away to Jacob’s Well and I was devastated D:
we don’t make things beautiful anymore, I have a normal sewing machine but I still miss that work of art

Exactly! I was born 50 years too late. I relate to people over three times my age better than people my own age. I would give my wrinkle-free face and perky boobs for memories of the 60′s.

You were not born in the wrong era. There is life after death and you are here to live. Start living by allowing yourself to associate yourself as a kid and let the adults be grown up.

I wish everyday that I was able to nip back in time to the 20′s-50′s and just stay there for a bit. mingle among the crowds, listen to the music I love played on vinyl, see the old movies i love on screen and just revel in the time thats rightfully mine.
so what if theres the downside of men over women, i’d sure as hell deal with that then have to deal with amount of shit our worlds offering.
for now though, i’ll take imagination over real life any time.

Although I know how you feel, I wouldn’t want to actually live in another time. If I lived life in a different era, then I wouldn’t see the magic of that era. I’d take it for granted (much like I do with life now).
Also the health care wasn’t half as good as it is now.

The only reason I wish I was born in a different era is so I could have seen Pink Floyd and other classic rock bands in their prime.

However, as much o a dick as Drew was life does suck… If you spend all your time wishing you were in a different time period you’re gonna let time pass you by and miss the amazing things that are going on in this current generation.

The main reason I’m glad I live in this generation is because as a former Marine and two time Iraq War vet I have nightmares and survivor guilt from Iraq. However, I would rather spend 5 years straight in Iraq than have to fight in Vietnam, WWI or WWII. Iraq sucked horribly but compared to some of the other conflicts I’m sure my tours were a cakewalk.

Надо радоваться что мы родились в это время т.к. раньше все было плохо,не было ни денег не еды.Были войны.А сейчас мы должны наслаждаться жизнью данной родителями.Виктория и з Беллорусии.
It is Necessary to rejoice that we were born in this time since earlier all were bad,was not nor money of meal. There were wars. But presently we must enjoy the life given parent.Victoria and z Bellorusii.

Do you not think people during the era you wish you were part of thought life sucked, just as people today do? If you lived in the era you would not notice the beauty and uniqueness because it would be what is normal.

Also time is passing you by, things change, but memories, photos, films etc stay. Looking back on a previous time is fun, maybe you may dream sometimes but things need to move on and always do. Holding on to something that is so distant is pointless, people need to enjoy life in the present moment (even if that includes admiration of another time).
