yeah, i’m the same. i know i could really make it big if i had the courage to sing in front of people. it’s sad that i don’t have the guts to do the thing i want to do most.

same here. my mom told me sometimes she stands by the door and listens to me when i sing in the shower.
but once i get in front of people, my voice disappears because i have horrible stage fright.
Me too. I sing in my car, while cleaning, in the shower, at work, but as soon as someone is listening, I clam up. Everyone gets on me to go to karaoke and whatnot, but I just can’t do it.

My boyfriend also has an excellent singing voice, he is even too nervous to sing in front of me unless I get him really drunk

I think you should face your fears and sing, as difficult as it may be. It will make you a stronger person to accept you talent.
I have friend who is the exact same way! she has an awesome voice and just won’t sing in front of anyone. You have a gift, use it.
I kind of know how that feels. I always feel that although people say I have a lovely voice, nobody really wants to hear me sing.
Sing loud and proud. there is not enough real talent in the world and yours should not go to waste!!!
I can relate… I cannot sing in front of my friends. im worried they’ll judge me. If THEY think i suck, my singing will be ruined forever…
then when i sing in front of my friends I sing horribly, so that they think im not trying to hard…

I agree with you all. I mean, i feel that I have an Okay voice, but my stage fright takes over every time anyone hears me sing but people in this new church that am attending, different people all the time tell me i have an amazing voice.. i guess i just dont want to believe them, or.. something….. Sometimes i let loose if i am alone.. but.. on a normal basis.. i sing badly to cover it up… or i just dont sing at all. and yet… i WANT people to hear me so they think i am good but i am too afraid. Even after singing in concerts, i just cant do it.

I want to hear it. If i had a voice I would sing everywhere anytime. I wish so bad to sing. Please you shouldn’t hide it. I wish i had a good voice because no matter what you say peolpe will listen
im a singer too
i get soo ridiculously nervous to sing in front of people, too… but then i think that this is genuinely what makes me happy, and if people are around to hear it, so be it. let’s not be scared together

Then sing in the shower. Loudly. When you’re “sure no one else is home”, though they are. They may never say anything… but then again, they might tell you what you already know, and smile that special smile that people do when they’ve been touched by something beautiful.
I highly doubt that Gracie. Even if your voice was good enough to “make it big” it takes a LOT more than that. Work ethic, confidence, style, originality, look, presence, etc. If you really think your voice could take you somewhere, then stop being afraid and LET SOMEONE HEAR IT!
Stage fright is deadly. My voice isn’t bad, but I freeze up in front of an audience.
I believe you can do it gracie because if you believe in your self anything is possible

I love my singing voice. Next year when I’m 14 I actually plan to run away to California and become a musician. But for some reason I just don’t want to sing in front of my friends yet because if they think

Everyone tells an acquaintance of mine to her face that she can sing good. Behind her back, they talk about how mediocre she is. Even though I studied vocal performance at a fine arts high school, have a Bachelors and Masters degree (in Vocal Performance) from a fine arts college and can sing very well, I am still scared to death. I am so scared that if I do sing in public and other people hear me, they will do the same thing to me that they do to her.
