If my daughter had sex at 14 (or younger) and I found out about it, she’d be grounded until the day she was 18.

If for some reason I had to give my child up for adoption, I would HOPE that he or she would want to come and find me. And Even if I had other kids and I was married, I would hope the child would love me and understand that it was what I had to do. The nervous system of a 16 week old fetus is fully developed, but ONLY AT THE AGE OF 16 WEEKS. Before that point, the fetus/embryo/baby can feel relatively no pain.

there are some obviously valid reasons to get an abortion (rape, disease, if the woman will definitely die in childbirth) and there are less valid reasons (being stupid, being stupid, being stupid) but the fact of the matter is that it’s the woman’s body, whether she was stupid or not. if you personally don’t believe in abortion, then don’t get one.

I was adopted and it was an open adoption. True not everyone out there is put into adoption homes and true not all kids who get adopted are put into homes that aren’t abusive. But they try to put kids into place’s where they will grow.

in canada the age of consent is 16(to have sex with anyone over 16) before that there is a 2 yr window, so you can legally have sex with someone within 2 years of age of yourself.
Also it is a proven fact that most women that choose abortion experience RELIEF, where as women who choose adoption experience REGRET.

We don’t know this girl and the reasoning behind her pregnacy. She has made a decision bigger than any one i have ever had to make (that’s even if it was a decision she made).
Remember what it was like being 14?……. Now imagine it being 14 and pregnant. EMPATHY NOT JUDGEMENT. She is a baby having a baby, two lives that will need so much support.
For all we know she will be a wonderful mother, who has supportive grandparents and this child will have more than what a child with married parents in their early 30′s has.
I understand you cant feed a baby on love but if she wants this baby i will stand by her and support her and if she chooses something different i would still support her and not judge her. Most people lose their virginities before they are married, they just didn’t happen to fall pregnant. my mother had two abortions before she had me and my brother, that’s her choice. I’ve had an abortion. This girl is obviously keeping her baby, she’ll probably love it too. If we were to accept anyone’s opinion and be “tolerant” of all views, there would be utter chaos. Murder of any sort, theft, rape, kidnapping would all be morally acceptable. We obviously must define every action as either right or wrong. If this were left up to whatever religion a person happened to associate with, someone could easily make up his or her own religion where serial killing or infanticide is just dandy. Obviously, society couldn’t work this way. In every civilization of every time, in every place, murder has been seen as wrong.

In short, they got rid of those who were unwanted, those who weren’t Convenient. This is the comparison people keep drawing. Abortion is, very simply, getting rid of who is unwanted, ill-timed. People make the mistake of thinking that until the baby is autonomously separate from the caregiver, the mother, it is not human. Or that it isn’t human until the child’s brain is fully functional. Guess what? Your brain is not fully fused until you are in your early twenties. A child of one is just as dependent as one who is still in the womb, whether 2 weeks or 26 weeks. So why not just kill the one year old if it is in the way? If you change your mind and say, ‘Eh, looks like I can’t afford him anymore. He’ll have to go.’ Hey, as long as his brain isn’t fused and he’s still dependent on his mother, he can’t be human. If abortion is justified, THIS is also justified. And that is also why nazism is traditionally associated with abortion.
Also, to those who think that the comparison I just made angers “half the planet”, look again. Most religions, most societies throughout the whole world not only frown upon abortion, but punish those who are found to have committed one.

My best friend got pregnant at 15. She spent her 16th birthday at her house with a few close friends because she was afraid of what she might hear. She made a mistake, and she payed the price. She had a beautiful baby girl and an amazing family took her in- it’s an open adoption. I admire your strength. I just hope that, unlike my best friend, you’ve learned from this.
