i do the exact same thing. my boyfriend and i split 3 months ago and i still don’t know if it’s because he never heard me or heard me and couldn’t say it back.
when you feel the need to whisper it, because you can’t find the strength to say it aloud, I found it meant that he wasn’t ready to hear it and I knew it. So after the whispers as he was falling asleep, or after he’d had a few drinks, I decided to hold off and wait ’til he was ready…. he never was, he left me. So be careful, sometimes your own actions are your subconscious acting to protect you from what you’re too afraid to admit
I did too. When he finally heard me, he couldn’t say it back and broke up with me a few days later. It physically hurts me every single day.
i heard it, he knows i did, and when i finally mustered the courage to tell him that i couldn’t, it was too soon, that he couldn’t possibly know that he loved me either, he didn’t understand.
a few months later, i think i broke his heart. he’s hated me ever since.
My now girlfriend did this to me and I kept kissing her and after about 30 seconds I told her “I love you too,” It is a moment we look back on and can’t help but be filled with happiness and a sudden need to kiss each other.
